French Bulldog Health Testing Standards

At Blue Buddha Frenchies, our health evaluation process supports thoughtful, responsible breeding decisions from the very beginning. Every breeding parent receives a veterinarian-performed physical evaluation of the hips and patellas, BOAS assessment, and targeted DNA screening for Cystinuria Types 2 and 3, HUU, JHC, and CMR1. These results are considered alongside structure, temperament, pedigree, and our firsthand knowledge of seven generations of Blue Buddha bloodlines. No health evaluation can guarantee that a dog or puppy will never develop a medical condition, but careful screening helps us make  more informed pairing decisions.
